John Freeman has been treasurer since 2006 following the retirement of Mary Bordass from the role. He is a lay member from the Diocese of Chester where he is an active member in his church, local community and as a school governor, as well as holding a number of posts within the diocesan structure. He has been a Companion of the Melanesian Brother-hood since 2000. The Brotherhood is part of the Province of Melanesia made up of the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu with which the Diocese of Chester has had an link since 1998. The four Religious Orders on the Solomon Islands: the Brotherhood, Franciscans, Melanesian Sisters and Sisters of the Church, who made up the very successful worship team at the recent Lambeth Conference, will be visiting the UK in 2013.
