Again we make our offering to you of some aspects of our church life with both spiritual and practical concerns from widely differing points of view. It is essential that we respect this diversity in the Church of England, where many of us are clear that there should be and is room for all, if we keep the clear guidance before us that we have in Jesus Christ’s own example in the gospels. Although we may decry the emphasis on bricks and mortar, which uses up so much of people’s talents and resources, our churches are icons of spirituality to many; even to those who never even go inside. What we must do is to make clear the living dynamic of our faith which we believe sets it out as a pilgrim way for everyone: not an easy route, but when did any of us go on a journey without getting lost or even distracted by road works? Read here of some of the varieties of navigating and helping others on that journey. We have been commissioned to go out and that means go out THERE, whether we like it or not. The OSG tries to make a home for open and forthright discussion from points on our Anglican compass that may not be quite like home to everyone. Do join us at our meetings or speak to our members. Each year in York we try to have an event to generate some fun and to raise a sum for charity. Last year it was Farm Crisis Network...this time is for The Children’s Society. Shirley-Ann Williams
